When I found this dress about twelve years ago at the Talbots in Columbia, MD, I had to have it. I was surprised at how feminine it looked when I tried it on.
The style is not really something I would have purchased before that- for the office, however the inspiration when I found it- the dress Sigourney Weaver wore to a business soiree in "Working Girl". The color a key factor.
I was just getting started in my business and thinking- if I needed to attend a business networking event, the dress would be perfect.
As you can see, I never wore the dress to a business soiree, the price tag is still attached, however did plan the accessories I would wear with it.
I have a tube of "Cherries in the Snow" lipstick that almost perfectly matches the dress color, ultra sheer nude stockings [my legs are very light], the black suede 9West pumps shown and gold button earrings [slightly larger than a dime]. My hair in a full style-- similar to Weaver's.
Oddly enough, the actual dress Weaver wore to the "Dim Sum" soiree [Youtube link], is more in keeping with what I would have purchased for the office with perhaps a little less fullness to the skirt. I liked wrap dresses with loose but more form fitting skirts. For me, that look worked well with a blazer.
In an earlier post, I mentioned I owned a black suede skirt set before the one my mother gave me as a Christmas gift one year.
Coworkers from my Rockwell office should remember that set.

The other day when I posted about the Eddie Bauer Cords I have purchased in recent years- someone asked [abstractly], if I still had the Black Suede Baseball Jacket and if so, why I had not paired it with the Black Cords.
Yes, that would have been a better pairing, however I no longer wear the jacket without the skirt and because I had been studying current college fashion trends-- I wanted to use an oversized sweater.
I purchased a Black Suede Jacket and Skirt set before receiving the one shown from my mother-- however the one I purchased was more formal. I could wear it to the office. It has a longer pencil type skirt with a shorter fitted suede jacket.
My mother's I felt a little too causal for office-ware, so it was odd that the source of the question-- was someone from my Rockwell office. I rarely wore that outfit-- let alone to the office.
The Clark Shoes I highlighted in a prior post, something I would not have considered when I was in college-- and I was trying to show options [pairing with cords] that I would not have thought of back then. I thought the shoes a great find and for those living on campus- maybe a comfort asset. I am trying to find a wide audience and it just so happens I was looking at college fashions and trends over the weekend.
I liked these and the price so much, I added them to the Things I Heart Amazon aStore.
One college fashion blogger wore a similar pair in the deep copper, out clubbing.
What am I looking at this week? Fabric. When I first left Rockwell and found myself in Hanover, MD-- I was a little shell shocked. So much so that I could not bring myself to look at anything related to programming, and the business life I had just left.
I gardened, tested recipes, had a couple of home projects-- [chair rail molding, crown molding, etc], and sewed some. I made a Paisley Pencil Skirt [fine corduroy material, yeah I like cord and suede] I still wear today and a dress.
I planned on making this dress with the caramel moleskin material shown, that I picked up from JoAnns. I have had this material and pattern for almost 16 years.
Instead, I decided to get back to business-- and never made the dress. That said, today because I am waiting on resolution to several issues-- I do very little programming, so I am once again looking at sewing projects.
I wanted a black wool jersey material to replace a dress I really liked-- that was lost. Hancock Fabrics - Fashion Fabric Up to 50% off is having a sale- but I have yet to find what I am looking for.
FBI where are we? The latest as of last night-- Me: "You cannot get Christian Dior Lipstick at CVS-- sheer beryl, number 365. I had to go to the mall". Did I know about malls back then? No.. A business suit, heels, stockings and a don't waste my time look apparently kept a lot of crap at bay. Today-- I get to hear a lot of nonsense. Given what I know now, if there had been an issue it would be in a record somewhere... and not raised just last night because of a blog post.
Today, many are offended when I say I would not go anywhere near you.. and many have hinted these last 18 years. I have passed and come home to yell at thin air. Given that, why would I have been in that company-- 20 years ago? I had no idea about malls back then.
Yes, someone last night actually wanted to make an issue of my sitting at the Nordstroms cafe [20 years ago] having a coffee, [smoke] and cookie. when is enough -- enough?

I am not sure when I had my first Madeleine [spelling varies] Cookie, but I think a good guess would be at one of the Nordstrom cafés [just outside the mall side entrance] while shopping. Probably, Pentagon City.
There is something about shopping, a cup of coffee and a cookie that I really like and Nordstrom's cafés were situated perfectly for me to sit and watch other shoppers come and go--- while I enjoyed my treat.
When my niece used to come over in the late 90s-- Madeleine Cookies were something we made. I found several recipes online and purchased a baking tin -- so that we could enjoy them at our tea party. The recipe we used:
French Butter Cakes (Madeleines)
Ingredients:
- 2 eggs
- ¾ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
- ⅓ cup white sugar
- ½ cup all purpose flour
- finely grated zest of one small lemon
- ¼ cup butter
- powered sugar for dusting
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Apply favorite non-stick baking spray to Madeleine molds.
- Melt butter and let cool to room temperature.
- In mixing bowl, beat eggs, vanilla and salt at high speed until light.
- Beating constantly, gradually add sugar; and continue beating at high speed until mixture is thick, pale and ribbons form in bowl when beaters are lifted, 5 to 10 minutes.
- Sift flour into egg mixture ⅓ at a time, gently folding after each addition.
- Add lemon zest and pour melted butter around edge of batter. Quickly but gently fold butter into batter. Spoon batter into molds. Batter will rise so do not fill all the way.
- Bake 12 to 14 minutes, or until cakes are golden and the tops spring back when gently pressed with your finger tip.
- Madeleines are best eaten the day they are baked. Leftovers are wonderful when dunked into coffee or tea.
I found this recipe on recipe.com years ago-- however not sure if it is still available.
Let me know if you find the recipe-- I will provide the link. Preservative? Add a little baking soda to the flour before incorporating with the egg mixture or microwave for 10 seconds just before eating the second day.
I am told this recipe, my cheesecake, simple icing, and the egg white buttercream icing are all recipes the pros use. I owe thanks to the Food Network, recipe.com and Southern Living.

With the many blogs I currently maintain, I did not feel I needed a Tumblr blog/account. Yes, I knew it was a free popular tool and enabled community members another avenue to network.
In business, you can never have too many business networks, however this did not dictate I start a blog with the popular service. I tend to be a little slow about joining popular networks, as was the case with Twitter and Facebook.
In August, I noted this headline but decided to remain in the audience insofar as my own news:

Then yesterday, I changed my mind.
I was reading a Tumblr blog and I wanted to know more about the author. I saw no visible information so I decided to sign up to see if the profile was available to members. By the time I finished signing up, I could not remember what I was reading.

It is an easy service to sign up for and there is a wizard to help you set up your blog. The major issue I had-- the older browsers on my Macbook could not handle some of the jquery/ajax features. It took me awhile to figure out how to change the blog's "untitled" Title to "QiSoftware".
Below I highlight how to update the blog Title. After clicking the "Customize" link--- click "Title" in the sidebar and enter your blog's title. I could not see the fading menu [shown below] with the older browsers.
The pros far outweigh the cons-- and happy I can now say I am a member of Tumblr.

- Recent problems with my sites-- enables another way to get messages out.
Yes, I do have several blogs on Blogger which I will also continue to use.

I don't know when I stopped wearing jeans after junior high.
Yesterday, while pursuing a college fashion site-- I decided that because I began dressing like I was going to an office in high school and never left home while in college, I missed out on style as a college student.
I love dressing, however if you could see me now- you probably would not believe me. I rarely go out, however when I do-- you would say I am high maintenance. Hair, makeup, tweaking this or that with my outfit. This today, as well as in the past.
That said, what's missing now? The need for me to go out.
Causal before I left Rockwell, was a sleeveless cotton black dress. When I left-- it became jeans, rubber clogs and boots [to wear in the yard], and hiking boots.
Outfits for now.
Coworkers of yore would probably have a hard time believing I now wear sweats, jeans and shorts most of the time. But what this does allow for- the comfortable shoes I posted about in the last entry. Abstract noise suggests they are popular...

I was catching up on my blog reading and watching one of the home shopping channels when this shoe was presented as "upcoming". I decided I loved it immediately.
By the way, I added John Legend, Ali Larter and Joseph Gordon-Levitt [amongst others], to the Celebrity Bloggers list.
How do I find celebrity bloggers? Searches after I see a news item.
I am going to take it easy this weekend, watch some movies, read a little, WHUR Gospel Sunday morning and hope for a good start to next week.

Today, I am having a problem with hosting-q.com. I continue to get warnings from Softaculous that WordPress installations I maintain on the domain are out of date.
The problem-- when I attempt to update the Wordpress installation I get an error message stating the PHP version is out of sync- see here.
Here is part of the support ticket I filed:
I file posts like this to insure everyone is on the same page. I would not want the hosting-q.com service interrupted because I cannot update a WordPress installation. Support team responses seem to be upbeat and helpful.
Other things I am up to?
- Got a lot of sleep last night. Feeling better.
- Went to the bank this morning.
- Being provided information as to what is going on. Most of it sounds like filler.

Get off me.
I will provide proof later.. do not embarrass yourself further by changing my sites. Too worried about it when they identified and they just never stopped opening their mouths. Target yours--- big mouth.
Relative too close to someone I once knew. Not sure how to stop the idiot crap... Guy was that you again? Just heard another threat--- Site going down. This the reason... I do not like threats-- Washington.

Recently, qisoftware.com has been suspended twice in as many weeks with the claim I am spamming. One of their emails in part of a series of communiques about the issue--
Let me say first off all-- I have been with this web hosting outfit since July 2007 and the forums have always worked in the same way. I send notifications of new sign ups to one of my gmail accounts. Before last Friday, I allowed the qisoftware.com email servers to notify new members their account was pending-- however deleted most. I primarily use the forums to list things-- and I really cannot afford to have them become SEO usable.
What I had forgotten the first time the account was suspended [about 2 weeks ago]-- was the email to new members notifying them that their membership was pending. It was coming from qisoftware.com mail servers. Emails to me-- to my gmail account. That said-- for some reason my hosting service kept sending an example of one of my emails to the gmail account. That's why I was confused.
To correct this problem-- I decided to use the SMTP option using the same gmail account.
It is not working yet-- so new sign ups are totally disabled. I am getting a server connect time out or a STARTTLS error. I am still playing with it. In the meantime everything else is working.
Notes about this issue-- [making a case].
- Adsense runs on every page of that forum and I use an image verification for sign up... Adsense is not reporting the stats- based on my web hosts acknowledgement of the number of emails sent out per hour.. more than 200. Yes, I was getting about 1000 emails to my gmail account daily. Some bot sign ups.
- In 2003 or so, I wrote a php procedure to delete bulk sign ups to the forums-- insuring the database did not get to large. I had a problem with a web hosting service once because of this-- so I put my programming skills to use as a safeguard.
- Why now after 6 years?
- Abstract noise suggests the government is deleting entries to the log files for the domain [keeping Alexa numbers low-- also using mirrors]-- so the fact that I was getting all of these emails is troubling-- to mostly them. Adsense-- being one of the affiliates listed in the settlement deal-- should be also concerned. I am told a lot via abstract noise. What I don't get-- is why the public does not get the Alexa numbers don't look correct-- also?
US Government -- you tell me so I can sanction? I do not.

What have I been up to? Creating a new post on the NS&J forums discussing my online reads. Yes, sort of like a blog roll however maintained as a forum post.
Updating other lists on the forums and finding new things to add to my Amazon aStore "Things I Heart" like this folding bike.
I have owned a tricycle [temper tantrum Wilmington, NC], standard Schwinn [ChippingNorton, England], String Ray [Upper Heyford, England], 10 speed [Fort Meade], 12 Speed [Bowie, MD], Road Bike 10 Speed [Hanover, MD - current], but I have always wanted a folding bike.
What else have I been up too? Trying to stay upbeat while being handed a bunch of crap.
I sold 3 bikes last night? Not according to my stats? I had a lot of hits to the forums after posting the list? Not according to the forum counters... Well we [US Government personnel] disabled the counters. US government why is the concept of fraud [Adsense ads on every page of that forum] hard for you? Get off my sites. You request a list of my reads-- then laugh in my face? Why not on this blog? Already discussed.. thought it would make a great sticky topic.... I like a reason to have visitors return.

Yes Amazon, I am told you and other affiliates are trying a number of things... FBI-- tapes are bad. What gives?
FBI-- my brother needs to come over here again? For what? My mother is on the phone with Jan-- sitting on the deck. She comes in and says Jan said Cheryl had a hose burst and water was all over her basement from the washing machine. My mother then says she is going to Lowes. This as I am writing the first part of this post. There is one about 4 miles away near Glen Burnie. She returns home and says my brother is coming over to install the hoses.
Work men have been in several times over the last month installing a new air conditionar and toilet. The repair for the toilet did not go to the basement where the washing machine is located but the air conditioning folks did. Is it possible they noticed bad hoses and wanted to warn?
Every day-- I am told my settlement payments are due to begin. Everyday.. those claiming to be with the FBI are in my ear. FBI-- you tell me everything. If there was a problem-- why didn't you tell me? Why pretend cheryl had a problem therefore we may have a problem?
Too many trying to incite here.. That jones guy came over Saturday-- in a Rolls Royce. My mother sat out there making a big deal over it. The whole thing looked kind of bama. Earpiece had a lot to say.. including she did not want to offend him. But they told me he did not like her. He likes Camille and Jan. My mother to like me.. get off me. Not my mother.. offend him? I don't care if she likes him.. Earpiece saying a lot here..
I am going to be a very rich woman any day-- and all this crap is going on? Andre-- every night DOJ lawyers ask me why you have such a large trust. Not why I had no idea-- but why you have one.. they tell me they want me to pay for it. DOJ you need to check with Rock. Get the tapes. Why continue with this? Then you [my brother] want to come over? I am on the record.. I told you--. they do not like you. I do not pay for you.. Cous [his brother]-- you are not trying something else right.. I heard [spring 2012] a story about my niece and her grandmother.. I also heard that landed your mother in jail. stop. I said get off me. Why all this crap if any day I am very rich?

First the new next door neighbors that never stop coming over? Then repair after repair. I am still trying to figure out what was wrong with the toilet. The AC... intalled incorrectly when my parents first purchased the place new-- so it needed one. But I was told I was moving and could rehab the house. Why now? And now this? DOJ-- why-- I am rich any day?
Asking Jones what's up with the Saturday limo demo-- he said I thought we wanted to cause a ruckus. Similar response given when the FBI questioned the clerk at the eye center in late June. Jones an old black guy. Big name star-- provided the old Rolls Royce? Yes I was told which. My question to DOJ? Why is "big name star" running sorties on my time. FBI-- explains what they are seeing and hearing. Sometimes the word sorties is used. Used on Saturday.. big name star running sorties. How insured is the big named star? I said no DOJ.

- Listening to promises pledged, promises broken-- wondering if DOJ and the FBI can come up with any more explanations for the inaction-- after it was their promise in the first place...
- Tired... Yesterday, I was so tired- I never turned on my computer. It is a rare occasion, on any given day- that I do not boot up my MacBook.
No promises in the pipeline thus far today.. Big one broken this morning... Amazon, please start looking at this more carefully.
